SC Gives Telecom Companies deadline of 31 March 2031 to pay AGR dues towards Centre

02/Septemeber/2020 (Wednesday): A Bench of Justice Arun Mishra, S Abdul Nazeer, and MR Shah on Wednesday has passed the decision on a plea made by the center regarding giving Staggered payment option to telecom companies so they can pay Adjusted Gross revenue-related dues to Telecomm department.

In a decision made by the Supreme court, telecom companies have to pay AGR due to the center before March 31, 2031, which is the deadline date to telecom companies for paying off the 1.6 Lakh Crore rupees in 10 years in total 10 installments each every year.

Top Court has directed companies to pay the first Installment of 10% of their due on March 31, 2021, and in case of any default payment, the companies have to pay a penalty on it.
