As Kerala Govt on Tuesday legally challenges and puts petition against CAA in Supreme Court and becomes the first state to not accept this Act or against it now Punjab Govt is also in this line and becomes the second state after Kerala to not accept Citizenship Amendment Act.

Punjab Assembly on Friday passes a resolution by voice vote method, against Citizenship Amendment Act calling Citizenship Amendment Act “Inherently Discriminatory” and also Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced that their government will put an appeal in Supreme court against this Act.

What is CAB? Citizenship Amendment Bill – What are the problems in it?

In the Punjab Vidhan Sabha (Punjab Assembly) CM Singh took Germany reference to explain drawback of CAA, CM says “what happened in Germany under Hitler leadership in 1930 is happening in India now, Germany did not speak out then and they regretted it now” and asked people to speak now against this Act so we don’t regret it later.

Amarinder Singh told media that “Like Kerala, Our government will also approach Supreme Court and will put Petition against it in SC” after Assembly passes a resolution.
