The Father of Indian Engineering and one of the best engineer Bharat Ratan award winner Mokshagundam Visvesvarayan is the man behind why we celebrate engineering day on his birthday, M. Visvesvarayan was born on 15 September 1861 in Karnataka near Chikkaballapur.

M. Visvesarayan has given many great things to our Nation which includes Raja Sagara Dam in Mysore, Flood Protection system for Hyderabad and also M. Visvesarayan invented the block system for dams in which he invented the automated doors that close when condition are of overflow, and many more dams and projects that Harnessing the water resources which makes M Visvesvarayan Father of Indian Engineering and one of a brilliant engineer.
